Feb 04 (Hindu) Hindu Munnani leader Rama Gopalan on Sunday said there should be no hindrance to Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa's pilgrimage to Tirupathi. In a statement here, he said the Hindu Munnani had organised protests against Mr. Rajapaksa when Hindu temples were demolished in Sri Lanka.
It also condemned depriving Tamils of their livelihood even after the war.
"But now, he is making a pilgrimage to Tirupathi. Sometime ago, the attack on Christian pilgrims from Sri Lanka to Velankanni evoked widespread condemnation from politicians. The same yardstick should be applied to Rajapaksa’s pilgrimage," he added.
